Metrobus tree top protest, Frenchay.
Protesting is the right of any member of a democracy. I’ve been involved in a few myself. But these days I’m more likely to be photographing them rather than taking part. While covering the tree top protesters against the Metrobus development at Frenchay there were a couple of protesters establishing camps amongst the branches. I could see the potential of a good silhouette with the bare winter branches and the figures clambering amongst them. One of them spotted me taking pictures and flicked his hood up. At that moment the image changed from what could have just been a picture of some tree surgeons plying their trade, to the anti-establishment figure of a hoody suspended in the branches.
